TEHRAN -- Aluminum production in Iran in the five month period ending August 22 reached 120,205 tons showing a 24 percent increase compared to the same period the year before.

IRNA news agency quoted Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) stating that in this period Iran Aluminim Company (IRALCO) produced 72,540 tons and Almahdi Aluminum company 47,665 tons.
During the five months, 69,217 tons of aluminum was exported in total worth $108 million
